Top Brit Priaulx gunning for victory
Andy Priaulx has set his sights on silencing his doubters in the best way possible - by winning Sunday's Macau Grand Prix
The British Formula 3 race winner was UK's leading driver in qualifying on Friday, when he grabbed an impressive sixth slot on the grid, and now he wants to go even better in Sunday's two-heated event.
"I'm so pleased with this, although I think I had the potential to go even better," he said. "My car is really good on long runs and from sixth on the grid it is possible to win here - as we have seen so many times in the past.
"Macau is the biggest test there is and I came here determined to show the world what I can do. You are up against the world's best here and they say the cream always rises to the top."
He added: "I'm here to prove a point because I thought I did a really good job in F3 this year, winning two races with a team that did not have a fantastic budget, and yet I was hardly given any credit."
