Sutil Grabs Spa's Race 2 Pole
ASM's Adrian Sutil let teammate Lewis Hamilton know that he will have a fight on his hands for the Formula Three Euro Series crown after grabbing pole for this weekend's second race in first qualifying at Spa-Francorchamps on Friday
The German, who was comprehensively outclassed by Hamilton at Pau last weekend, maintained his quick form from the morning's free practice session to claim pole position by just less than three tenths of a second.
Hamilton had struggled with a stomach problem during Thursday's test session but was feeling much better as he held onto his second position, securing ASM another front row.
"Things went clearly better today that was the case in yesterday's tests, but I'm also in a better condition," said Hamilton, who currently lead the championship title chase.
Argentine Esteban Guerrieri was an encouraging third quickest, although an incredible seven tenths slower than Hamilton, with Lucas di Grassi fourth overall and Giedo van der Garde fifth.
Briton Paul di Resta, who had topped Thursday's test times, was sixth fastest.
