Robbie Kerr Q&A

Robbie Kerr heads into this weekend's final round of the British Formula 3 Championship at Donington Park 33 points ahead of title rival James Courtney. With only 42 on offer, he is almost home and dry, but isn't taking anything for granted. He's already taken pole position for the first race on Saturday with his Alan Docking Racing Dallara-Mugen Honda, with Carlin Motorsport's Courtney only fifth on the grid. Marcus Simmons spoke to Kerr at Donington

Robbie Kerr Q&A

"It's probably a good thing. I haven't had time to worry too much and I've been able to come here this weekend focusing on getting two pole positions and winning the two races."

"Obviously I know where he is on the grid, but I'm not worrying about where he is. I just have to do my own job."

"It has been. But I have to do it again in second qualifying tomorrow morning and convert what will hopefully be two pole positions. I'm pretty happy - there are a few things we might adjust on the car, but that might be a risk. So we've got to weigh up whether those are risks which are worth taking."

"Well, I'm on pole position so the plan is to lead throughout. But if I don't get to the first corner in front, well, I've just got to see what's happening around me, just look at what's going on and take it from there."

"People are certainly giving me more time. They appreciate what I'm doing, but it's not over yet, and until it is I can't afford to worry about other people's views."

"Mike's been good enough to come down this weekend, but nothing's 100 percent sorted with him yet. I don't know where I am in F1. I've just got to give myself the biggest opportunity by winning this championship. No-one 100 percent acts on my behalf, but it's good that people are giving me more time now."

"Yes. I obviously want an F1 seat but that's extremely difficult to get, so maybe it's more realistic to aim for a testing role. But first I've got to get this done, and then I'll get on the phone!"
