Race 2: More joy for Hitech
Lucas di Grassi rounded off a perfect day for himself and Hitech Racing when he took another flag-to-flag win in the second British Formula 3 race at Thruxton today (Monday). This time Nelson Angelo Piquet repaired the dent in his points advantage with a fighting second place.

Di Grassi had another fine start and was calm under some heavy early pressure from the Piquet Sports driver. In fact it was Piquet who made the mistake when he overdid things trying to take the lead at the chicane - although he rejoined the track without any damage or lost places.
From that moment di Grassi, who had never seen fearsome Thruxton before Friday, had things well under control. Piquet was pleased to reverse his first-race disaster and reduce his points loss for the day to nine. He leads Rossiter by 39 points with four races remaining.
Rossiter could only manage fourth in this race, as the Fortec driver was never in with a chance to overtake Rob Austin, who held third throughout. The final title contender, Adam Carroll, did his best from ninth on the grid to take seventh place - his chances in the championship are now probably just mathematical.
