Qualifying 1: Guess who's on pole...
James Courtney took no time to readjust to the pace of F3 following his Jaguar F1 test this week and claimed pole position for race one at Silverstone's International circuit.
The runaway championship leader was over two tenths quicker than Robbie Kerr, who will probably have to get the jump on the Australian at the lights if he's to deny Courtney the £15,000 he stands to win if he claims his third straight race one victory on Sunday. The next seven drivers were very closely matched, and three tenths covered positions two through to eight.
Mark Taylor lines up third, Richard Antinucci fourth and Matt Gilmore fifth. Heikki Kovalainen was the top non-Mugen-Honda qualifier, taking sixth spot in his Renault-powered Dallara.
