Negrao clinches Sudam F3
Xandinho Negrao secured a double championship success for the Piquet Sports team when he clinched the South-American Formula 3 Championship at Interlagos last weekend

On the back of Nelson Piquet Jr clinching the British title for the team earlier this year, Negrao added his own title to the mix to ensure the future Hitech Racing team-mates will race alongside each other in GP2 as reigning F3 champions.
Negrao had headed into the four-round finale with a comfortable points cushion over main rival Gustavo Foizer and decided to play it safe as the introduction of new engines marred the weekend - hampering the pace of several drivers.
As Foizer did exactly what he needed and roared to victory in each round, Negrao did enough to clinch the title with one race remaining after finishing third, sixth and seventh in the first three events of the weekend.
With the title wrapped up, Negrao decided to push for the win in the final event of the campaign but crashed trying - ensuring he ended the season with just a two-points lead over Foizer in the final title table.
