Merhi to race in GP3 again
Formula 3 Euro Series race winner Roberto Merhi will return to the GP3 Series at this weekend's meeting at Silverstone
Merhi scored a superb double podium on his category debut in Valencia two weeks ago. The results were his Atech CRS GP team's first points of the season, and have led to the extension of what was originally a one-off deal.
Although the opportunity for the Spaniard to finish well-placed in the GP3 championship has gone, after missing the opening three rounds of the series, Merhi has stated that his objective for Silverstone will be to improve over his previous showing.
"Atech called me again, asking if I could drive with them at Silverstone," said Merhi. "I am really pleased as I went very well in Valencia and I consider it a great opportunity for my career.
"If in the previous meeting I scored two podiums, now I want a victory. I have experience and I know the car, so I feel very confident. I really want to achieve victory to repay the confidence shown in me by team boss David Hayle."
