Kane Takes Pole 1 at Mondello Park
Steven Kane earned his second pole position of the British F3 season by topping the times in the first qualifying session for the Mondello Park races tomorrow
The Northern Irish Promatecme Lola driver just edged out new Champion Alvaro Parente's Carlin Motorsport Dallara on the twisty circuit in County Kildare. Third was American Charlie Kimball, Parente's teammate.
In a session interrupted by a red flag at the ideal moment for setting times, none of the top names were able to improve after the break, which was caused by Marko Asmer (Hitech Racing). Asmer's teammate Tim Bridgman did not take part in the session after sustaining burns in an accident at home during the week.
Mike Conway (Fortec Motorsport), Danilo Dirani (P1 Motorsport) and Ryan Lewis (T-Sport) were the only other drivers within a second of Kane's time.
