Grubmuller tops Snetterton test

Walter Grubmuller topped the British Formula 3 test at Snetterton yesterday, ahead of the next round of the championship at the Norfolk circuit next weekend

The Austrian, who took his maiden victory in the previous round at Hockenheim, set his best time in the morning session and nobody got within a tenth of a second of it for the rest of the day.

Championship leader Daniel Ricciardo was second fastest, posting the quickest time of the afternoon session, a fraction ahead of his Carlin Motorsport team-mate Max Chilton.

Grubmuller's Hitech Racing team-mate Renger van der Zande was fourth quickest, with Fortec Motorsport's Riki Christodoulou and Carlin's Henry Arundel completing the top six.
