Fortec lines up Lloyd

Newly-crowned McLaren AUTOSPORT BRDC Award winner Alex Lloyd is strongly tipped to join the Fortec Motorsport team to race in the British Formula 3 championship, according to this week's AUTOSPORT magazine

Lloyd, who received his prize at Sunday's AUTOSPORT Awards ceremony, has racked up a lot of testing miles over the past few weeks with the resurgent Fortec team, which is switching from Renault to Opel power for next season.

Fortec boss Richard Dutton wants Lloyd to partner FRenault rival and Award finalist James Rossiter in his squad.

"Absolutely," said Dutton. "Our dream team for next season is Alex Lloyd and James Rossiter - for the simple reason that they would push each other along so hard. The FRenault guys are so bloody good. They have really blown us away."

Lloyd, who has tested for other F3 teams, is remaining tight-lipped about which squad he might join. "I'm focussing on British F3 as my main aim next year," he said. "I've nothing signed at the moment, but my sights are set on being with a proven race-winning team."
