Donington 2: Jouanny at the last
Bruce Jouanny claimed the final British Formula 3 race of the year at Donington Park as champion Robbie Kerr capped a great season with another podium
Poleman Jouanny led into Redgate from Heikki Kovalainen, while Rob Austin settled into third place behind them.
But early in the race, the safety car was called on following a clash at the Melbourne hairpin between Kerr and Alan van de Merwe who were battling for fourth. Van de Merwe was out, but Kerr continued without losing a place.
After the restart, Jouanny kept the gap to Kovalainen to take his second win of the season. Meanwhile, Kerr battled with long-time title rival James Courtney until Austin fell back into their clutches.
Kerr passed Austin on the penultimate lap, then Courtney had a go at Goddards. But the Australian hit Austin up the back, breaking a front wing and leaving the Menu Motorsport driver with a puncture. Courtney completed the final lap and held on to fourth, but Austin fell down the order to 10th.
Billy Asaro took his third Scholarship Class win of the year after Adam Carroll and Robert Dahlgren both lost the lead in separate incidents.
