Da Costa to sit in for Foresti in GP3
Antonio Felix da Costa will deputise for Lucas Foresti at this weekend's GP3 round in Hungary
The Portuguese driver - who currently competes in the Formula 3 Euro Series - will join GP3 outfit Carlin whilst Foresti fulfils his British F3 duties at Spa.
Da Costa, who finished third in last year's Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, will be making his GP3 debut and acknowledges he faces a steep learning curve.
"We don't have much time at all before qualifying, so we need to make sure we use the time well and hope we have no problems," he said. "Then, in the last 10 minutes we will work hard towards a good set-up for qualifying.
"The car looks good and we know the team is good, so I'm looking forward to my first experience of GP3."
The 18 year-old believes his previous experience of the Hungaroring gives him an advantage.
"Everything is new for me this weekend - the car is new, the team is new - so there is a lot to learn. I do have experience of the circuit, however: I raced here in Formula Renault last year and was quick, so I don't think the track will be a problem."
Carlin will be hoping for a strong race this weekend after struggling last time out in Hockenheim. Polesitter Josef Newgarden lost places at the start of the sprint race after a poor getaway, and suffered a collision with Manor Racing driver James Jakes - who will also miss this weekend's race - during the closing stages. Fellow Carlin driver Dean Smith also struggled, finishing 12th after an earlier incident.
