Combe 1: Kerr defeats Courtney
Robbie Kerr took victory in the first of the day's two British F3 races at Castle Combe, leading home championship leader James Courtney and the ever-consistent Bruce Jouanny
Manor Motorsports driver Richard Antinucci led out of the first corner, despite starting eighth on the grid, and there was no surprise when he was called in for a stop-go penalty on lap two.
This left Kerr, who had harried his way past Courtney at the esses on the first lap, to assume the lead. For the first eight laps Courtney kept the Englishman under pressure, but Kerr held his nerve and eventually pulled away for a comfortable win.
Heikki Kovalainen and Michael Keohane completed the top five, with Antinucci's team-mate Mark Taylor languishing in sixth place and seemingly slipping out of championship contention.
There was a great drive from Fabio Carbone who charged back to finish 13th after stalling on teh grid. His efforts were rewarded with the final championship point.
Adam Carroll notched up yet another win in the Scholarship class ahead of Stephen Colbert, extending his already massive championship lead.
