Buller not worried by test pace

Will Buller is confident there is "more to come" from him and his Fortec team, after finishing the first official British Formula 3 test of the new season at Rockingham nearly a second adrift of Carlin's pacesetter Felipe Nasr

Northern Irishman Buller was a podium finisher in his rookie F3 season with Hitech Racing last year, before switching to Fortec for the Macau Grand Prix and a second season in British F3 this year.

Fortec, which claimed pole position at Rockingham with Oli Webb last season, appeared to be struggling for pace with its Dallara-Mercedes at this week's two-day test.

But Buller, who finished up 10th fastest behind team-mate Harry Tincknell, remains confident the team/driver/car combination has the speed to challenge at the front again this season.

"A combination of traffic and red flags meant we weren't able to really show what we are capable of in terms of times, but the pace is certainly there in the car," said Buller. "Without traffic, I was on for a 1m10.8s lap that would have put me in the top six, so we know there is still more to come.

"I didn't do as many laps as some people because we only have a limited number of tyres available during the season. We took the decision to sit out one session on Tuesday and then only did limited running in one session yesterday. That has allowed us to save tyres for the upcoming tests, which will be more beneficial than driving round doing laps when we didn't need to.

"We've got a few things to work on before we head to Silverstone next week, but overall it's been a solid start to our season's work."
