Bell to finish season at ADR
Doug Bell will be able to complete the F3 season with Alan Docking Racing despite his former team, SS Sport, claiming that he is still under contract with them
Bell had his first outing with ADR at Croft on Sunday and finished a disappointing ninth. However, he had not tested at the venue beforehand.
SS is unhappy that Bell is racing. Team manager Paulo Carcasci said. 'He's still under contract with us. He shouldn't be driving, but we'll leave it up to the lawyers.'
It is thought Bell will argue that SS has breached the contract but when asked he would not expand on the situation.
ADR boss Alan Docking confirmed that Bell would replace Malaysian driver Alex Yoong for the rest of the year. 'That's the plan,' he said. 'Alex ran into a bit of trouble over budgets, but the Prime Minister of Malaysia has said he'll support him now and he's trying to work out what he can do.'
Ironically, SS's other driver, Tim Spouge, showed his best form yet to finish fourth at Croft.
