Di Resta on Pole at Lausitz
Manor Motorsport's Paul di Resta took pole position for Sunday's F3 Euroseries race at the EuroSpeedway, Lausitz
The McLaren Autosport Award winner blistered the opposition in the series' first visit to the track, taking pole by more than half a second.
The venue is a replacement for the cancelled Avignon round, which fell through because of local government politics.
Newly crowned champion Lewis Hamilton, free of having to worry about securing the title, still continued his front running pace and edged out Prema Power team's Franck Perera for second.
Di Resta's Manor Motorsport teammate Lucas di Grassi was fourth, keeping his hopes of snatching second in the championship from Adrian Sutil alive.
Sutil qualified fifth, ahead of Signature driver Guillaume Moreau.
