Red Bull junior Dan Ticktum took a sensational win in a thrilling Macau Grand Prix after the leading two cars crashed at the final corner on the last lap.
Motopark driver Ticktum was on hand to profit when Ferdinand Habsburg, who had hauled in long-time leader Sergio Sette Camara, tried an audacious outside pass on the Brazilian at R Bend.
Sette Camara lost the rear end mid-corner and went into the barriers, while Habsburg's outside line ran him out too wide and he hit the wall exiting the corner.
Ticktum, who had passed Lando Norris and Maximilian Gunther simultaneously in a breathtaking four-abreast move into Lisboa with two laps remaining, reached the finish line just 0.568 seconds in front of Norris.
This was only the third race weekend in F3 for Ticktum, who started the race from eighth on the grid.
The race began with Joel Eriksson slipstreaming poleman Callum Ilott on the run to Lisboa to take an early lead, but a full-course yellow was called on lap two after Marino Sato crashed at the kink before Fishermen's Bend.
The green flags waved as the field were on the long straight to Lisboa, and Prema Powerteam-run Ilott and the Motopark machine of Eriksson collided.
Eriksson reached the corner still in the lead but with damage, allowing team-mate Sette Camara into first position before he parked his car on San Francisco Hill.
That caused another FCY, which was converted into a full safety car, under which Ilott pitted for repairs, but he eventually retired.
After the restart, Sette Camara looked as though he had the measure of second-placed Prema driver Gunther, who then came under attack from the Carlin car of Habsburg.
Habsburg passed Gunther with five laps remaining, but a wild slide at Melco hairpin left him almost two seconds behind Sette Camara.
Gradually the Austrian brought the interval down, and on the final lap he tried a brave outside pass at the Mandarin kink, the two wheelbanging down to Lisboa, but Sette Camara taking the inside line.
Habsburg tried for openings all around the mountain, with the two cars sliding around in lurid fashion, before his last-ditch bid ended in disaster.
As Habsburg crawled across the line for fourth, with deranged left-front suspension, Ticktum's Motopark car took the flag with Carlin-run McLaren Formula 1 reserve Norris second and Ralf Aron completing the podium for Van Amersfoort Racing.
Gunther was fifth from the second VAR car of Pedro Piquet, while Sacha Fenestraz claimed seventh from Guan Yu Zhou, Tadasuke Makino and Jehan Daruvala.
