Di Grassi takes first victory of 2009

Lucas di Grassi finally opened his 2009 account with a win in today's GP2 Series sprint race in Turkey

Racing Engineering's Brazilian inherited pole position courtesy of post-race penalties issued to some of his rivals following yesterday's race, and took advantage of the situation with a measured lights-to-flag performance.

He crossed the line with a 3.8 second advantage over Super Nova's Javier Villa, who had started alongside him on the front row and shadowed him for the entire race.

Barwa Addax's Vitaly Petrov's third position moves the Russian to the top of the championship table, two points clear of team-mate Romain Grosjean, who endured his third non-scoring race in a row after finishing 12th.

Nico Hulkenberg was fourth ahead of his ART team-mate Pastor Maldonado, with Piquet's Alberto Valerio picking up the final point on offer for sixth.
