Abu Dhabi F2 testing: Haas F1 junior Maini leads on second day
Haas Formula 1 junior driver Arjun Maini set the fastest time on the second day of the Formula 2 post-season test in Abu Dhabi
Day one pacesetter Louis Deletraz was second quickest for MP Motorsport, with Alexander Albon completing the top three for the DAMS squad.
Maini, a race-winner in GP3 this season with Jenzer Motorsport, set the fifth fastest time in the morning session but had his times deleted when his Russian Time machine was found to be underweight.
With all 20 F2 drivers setting their fastest times of the day during the evening - after the GP3 field had completed its second day of the three-day event - Maini posted a 1m48.645s an hour into the second session.
His best effort put him 0.058 seconds clear of Deletraz and 0.096s ahead of Albon.
Prema recruit Nyck de Vries finished one spot in front of his fellow McLaren F1 junior Lando Norris, who was fifth for Campos Racing.
Santino Ferrucci ended the day in sixth for Trident, with Renault academy member Jack Aitken (ART Grand Prix) seventh and Nicholas Latifi (DAMS) eighth.
European Formula 3 regular Tadasuke Makino was ninth in the second Russian Time-run car, with 2017 F2 frontrunner Oliver Rowland rounding out the top 10 for Racing Engineering.
GP3 champion and Mercedes F1 junior George Russell (ART) finished 11th, with Honda protege Nirei Fukuzumi 16th for Arden.
Prema's other driver - already confirmed for 2018 - Sean Geleal, ended the day in 17th position for the Italian squad.
