Ferrari's key strengths in Monaco, Verstappen a surprising outsider? | 2026 Monaco Grand Prix Friday

Ferrari topped both practice sessions today, as expected by George Russell. From the point of view of Mercedes, they are on the backfoot, a bit further than they anticipated.

With Ferrari out in front, one of the bigger surprises of the day came in the form of the Red Bull, with Max Verstappen slotting in 3rd behind the Ferraris, even with a crash for Isack Hadjar, the day was positive overall. The same cannot be said about McLaren.

To cap off, there was discussion about 2027, and the the major rule changes, and a surprise when the Audi CEO said Audi would be fine with V8s in the 2030s.
