Williams and Spyker wrap up Valencia test

The Williams and Spyker teams wrapped up on Wednesday their three-day test at the Valencia circuit in Spain

While the rest of the teams getting ready to start working in Bahrain tomorrow, Williams and Spyker completed their programme at the Spanish track, where Nico Rosberg finished on top of the times with his Toyota-powered FW29.

Both teams were forced to run with wet weather tyres until mid-morning due to some overnight showers. The rest of the day's work took place on a dry track.

Rosberg was joined by the team's test driver Narain Karthikeyan, who took over from Austrian Alex Wurz at the wheel of the second Williams.

Adrian Sutil and Dutch teammate Christijan Albers were in charge of testing duties for Spyker.

German Sutil caused the only red flag of the day when smoke started coming out from his brake discs, before all the car's wheels caught fire and needed to be extinguished by the track marshals.

Despite the problem, Sutil was happy with the day's work.

"We had some good runs in the the last hour and tried out some different set-ups and control systems settings," said Sutil. "In the entry to the corner we have a lot more stability and mid-corner there's not so much understeer. In every area the car has more grip.

"Next time out we'll continue to work on set-up and different configurations and try to get more performance out of the tyres."
