Webber Wary of Changing Weather

Wet and cold weather could help Ferrari and Michael Schumacher and deliver a critical and successful result in their bid to retain the World Championship in Sunday's United States Grand Prix, according to Mark Webber.

Wet and cold weather could help Ferrari and Michael Schumacher and deliver a critical and successful result in their bid to retain the World Championship in Sunday's United States Grand Prix, according to Mark Webber.

The Australian, talking after Saturday's qualifying session run in changing conditions with a brisk wind and variations in temperature under a cloudy sky, said a colder day on Sunday, if it is also wet, may play into Ferrari's hands.

"If it is wet enough to force the use of full wet tyres, then the advantage of the Bridgestone people over Michelin is only quite small, but if we go onto intermediates at any time, then that is when they will really be on top," said the Jaguar driver.

"If that happens, then that is when Bridgestone can really get pissed on by them for a while. If it dries out and warms up, then it swings back to Michelin. So the weather is a big factor."

The forecast for Sunday's weather, as outlined on Saturday evening in Indianapolis, was for cooler weather with cloudy spells, a little sunshine and risk of some showers.
