Webber concedes RBR needs more pace

The Australian finished in seventh position today, nearly a second behind pace-setter Fernando Alonso.

Webber, whose team-mate Sebastian Vettel was second quickest but nearly four tenths off, admitted his team was still lacking speed.

"Fernando was quick but we need to get a bit more pace," said Webber. "It was not too bad. We drove around and not quite quick enough yet.

"We did all our fuel loads - so we were pretty compromised with the red flags in the end. Not too bad - we need to chip away and get a bit quicker.

"We were all on a pretty good level, McLaren and Ferrari as well. The pace pretty close but we need to find a bit more pace at the moment."

Vettel had a difficult start to the weekend after crashing during first practice, although the German bounced back in the afternoon.

"I was a bit quick and lost the rear," he said of the crash. "By the time I hit the wall it was low speed. The crash was quite mild and there was not too much damage to fix. It is not necessary to do things like that."
