Webber can't wait to try out new Red Bull

Mark Webber has admitted he is now desperate to get his hands on the new Red Bull Racing car after completing his first two tests with the team

The Australian has so far only experienced this year's Ferrari-powered RB2, and knows that next year's Adrian Newey-designed RB3-Renault will be completely different.

And although his tests so far have not been wasted, because he has got valuable experience of the new Bridgestone tyres, he is itching to get his hands on his 2007 car.

"There is no real point in talking about this year's car," Webber told autosport.com. "Christian (Horner, team principal) has managed to get the ingredients together to make the best car next year - with Renault engines and everyone on the same tyres.

"The team know what was weak this year and there is lot of excitement, as there is every year. Every team feels like a boxer going into a new match - and everyone says they are going to get on the podium.

"Most don't get what they are asking for, but I hope that is not the case with us. We want to have a bloody good season next year."

The new RB3 is due to run for the first time in January and, although that is several weeks away, Webber is convinced that it will not feel too long.

"We are just waiting for the new car - and we are ready for it. It will come quickly. Christmas will go quickly, and I am really looking forward to the new car.

"All drivers get excited when their new car comes, and they are always keen to find out what it can do in the championship. I cannot wait - but it will come very quickly. I can assure you that."
