Valencia Test: Day 2 Report
Jos Verstappen was fastest in Wednesday's F1 test at Valencia, adding another positive result to the European Grand Prix where Arrows' first points of the season were scored
Giancarlo Fisichella was second fastest for Benetton, despite a spectacular shunt during the afternoon's running. (See separate story)
Johnny Herbert was third fastest for Jaguar, boosting his confidence after a so-far disappointing season, but was nevertheless some way off Verstappen's time.
Many of the drivers went off at some point, but little damage was caused.
Benetton tested both of the young drivers they have shown an interest in recently, with Antonio Pizzonia coming out quickest. The Brazilian was 5th fastest, a whisker off Jarno Trulli's Jordan and Herbert's Jaguar. It was Pizzonia's first time driving the Benetton, and he had a slight off in the course of his 47 laps, but was able to continue.
Giorgio Pantano drove for the morning before handing over the car to Pizzonia. The Italian was 8th quickest.
