Valencia day 3: McLaren dominate

Kimi Raikkonen out-paced team-mate David Coulthard, and everyone else, on the final day of the Valencia test

The Finn's best lap of 1m10.664s was over a second quicker than Coulthard could manage, and was within three tenths of the Scot's outright lap record for the Spanish circuit.

Coulthard posted a best time of 1m11.286s on his first day back at work after the winter testing ban. Williams star Juan Pablo Montoya posted the third fastest time, completing 137 laps using the new BMW P83 engine. The team also ran Italian Vitantonio Liuzzi, who set promising times despite spinning off the circuit.

Sauber driver Nick Heidfeld posted the fifth-best time, working on aerodynamics and Bridgestone tyre development. He said: "I really enjoyed getting back in a Formula 1 car this week. We have had three good days here in Valencia gathering data for the new car."
