Italian Jarno Trulli launched a scathing attack on British driver Jenson Button on Sunday, calling him an "idiot" for causing their collision in the United States Grand Prix.
As his Jordan team mate Heinz-Harald Frentzen drove to third place and his first podium finish since the Brazilian Grand Prix in March, Trulli let rip at the 20-year-old Englishman's driving.
"Jenson Button, he really is an idiot at the moment," he said. "He is driving like a crazy. He was pushing me hard and he tried to outbrake me, but it was too late.
"He collided with me and then went off. It was not my race."
It was the second time in three races that Button and Trulli had collided.
Trulli said: "It is not the first time he has done that. I think he needs to cool down. It can get very dangerous."
Button said the accident was probably Trulli's fault.
"He was in front of me and from my point of view he was in the right position, he wasn't moving around or anything.
"I got alongside him and then maybe because of the braking, it seemed to me that he slightly crossed on to my side of the circuit and we touched."
