Sutil expects to remain at Force India

Adrian Sutil now thinks it is likely that he will remain at Force India next season, after his team took up the option it has on his contract for next year

The team's option on Sutil for 2010 expired this week, and Sutil has confirmed to AUTOSPORT that the Silverstone-based outfit has activated it to ensure it has first call on his services for next season. The German has been linked with moves to both McLaren and Toyota for next year in recent weeks.

"They [Force India] have taken it already," said Sutil. "It is nice to see that they like my work, and they believe in me.

"I like the team a lot, it is my first team, and I feel really well here. That is why I am very relaxed. In any case I will be in F1 and I have no problem to do another year here. It is looking really good."

Although taking up the option does not guarantee that a contract will definitely follow, Sutil says that the indications are that things will get sorted.

"I am not totally sure where I am going to end up, but most likely I will be here with this team for another year," he explained. "Something else could happen, but right now that [staying here] is what I am thinking."
