Sunday Warm Up - Austrian GP

The rejuvenated Rubens Barrichello boosted his hopes of scoring his second ever Grand Prix win when he out-paced his World Champion teammate Michael Schumacher around the sunny A1-Ring in the warm-up for Sunday's Austrian Grand Prix.

The rejuvenated Rubens Barrichello boosted his hopes of scoring his second ever Grand Prix win when he out-paced his World Champion teammate Michael Schumacher around the sunny A1-Ring in the warm-up for Sunday's Austrian Grand Prix.

The on-form Brazilian finished more just nineteen hundredths of a second faster than German Schumacher, who was second, and their Ferrari team was, once again, a cut above the rest.

Schumacher's younger brother Ralf will start from second on the grid and had hoped to find a good race set-up on his Williams-BMW to challenge the all-conquering Italian scuderia.

But it was a tough morning for his team. He went off the track twice in the half-hour session and could post only the 14th best time of the session, while his Colombian team-mate, Juan Pablo Montoya, finished down in 18th place.

Brazilian Felipe Massa, in the Sauber, was the 'best of the rest' to take third behind the two Ferraris, with his teammate Nick Heidfeld fifth and hoping for a belated present with some points in the race, following his 25th Birthday on Friday.

The Arrows cars of Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Enrique Bernoldi made another surprise appearance high up in the top ten as the pair continued to push their cars to the limit to claim fourth and sixth respectively.

Briton David Coulthard was seventh for McLaren-Mercedes, with the British American Racing Honda of Jacques Villeneuve sandwiched between him and Finn Kimi Raikkonen, in ninth in the second McLaren-Mercedes.
