13.07BST: Eddie Irvine's car just caught fire as mechanics in the pits. It is thought the problem came from the exhaust. He is out of the car and will be delayed while it is fixed

13.14BST: Mika Hakkinen is currently quickest, putting in a lap of 1.27.059.

13.16BST: Stewart driver Johnny Herbert has just gone into the pits.

13.17BST: Hakkinen, Irvine, Michael Schumacher and Ralf Schumacher remain the quickest four on the track. Jean Alesi has gone up to eigth, followed in ninth by Fisichella.

13.20BST: Michael Schumacher is getting ready to go on track.

13.21BST: Johnny Herbert is back on track.

13.22BST: Heinz-Harald Frentzen has just entered the pits.

13.23BST: Mika Hakkinen is out on track, but has been delayed by traffic.

13.27BST: Damon Hill has just put in a quick lap, going fourth fastest with a time of 1.27.381 - pushing Ralf Schumacher down to fifth position.

13.28BST: Hill has just entered the pits.

13.30BST: Mika Hakkinen remains fastest, followed by Irvine and Michael Schumacher.

13.31BST: Both Stewarts are on the track.

Michael Schumacher has returned to the pits, but team-mate Eddie Irvine has not yet got his car back out on the circuit.

13.31BST: Rubens Barrichello has just put in a 128.038, moving him to eighth.

Pedro Diniz has just knocked Barrichello down to ninth putting in a 1.28.031 in his Sauber.

13.34BST: Diniz has just put in a faster time, moving up to seventh, and displacing the BAR of Jacques Villeneuve.

13.40BST: Twenty minutes remain, Hakkinen still leads practice times.

13.45BST: Michael Schumacher puts two wheels on the grass and almost loses control during a flying lap.

13.47BST: Damon Hill holds fourth fastest time of this session, with less than 15 minutes left.

13.50BST: Hakkinen leads session, followed by Irvine, Michael Schumacher and Hill.

13.55BST: Pedro de la Rosa sets his fastest time of the session.

13.58BST: Mika Hakkinen sets his fastest time of the session. Ralf Schumacher moves into second with his flying lap.

14.00BST: David Coulthard fails to improve his time as the session is brought to a close.
