Schuey nonplussed by Montoya's driving

Michael Schumacher has criticised Juan Pablo Montoya's driving after the two slid off the track together while battling for the lead in the Austrian Grand Prix

"What he did was silly. He wasn't even looking where he was going - but at what I was doing," he said.

But the German battled back to a controversial second place to minimise the damage in the scrap for the world championship.

Having been dropped out of the top five after clashing with Montoya, Schumacher climbed back into the top three. On the final lap he took second place when Rubens Barrichello finally succumbed to several radioed team orders for him to move over for his team mate.

But David Coulthard's unexpected victory means Schumacher's lead in the world championship was cut to just four points after six races.

The world champion initially said he would talk to the Colombian about his tactics in defending his lead.

"I shall have to have a word with him," he said.

Afterwards, however, he added that he would study the video of the incident before a face-to-face confrontation with the Williams-BMW driver.

"I was intending to go and talk to him but sometimes in these things you can be wrong, so I will look at the video and then decide what to do," he explained.

Earlier he said: "I am a little bit upset obviously because there is no way he could make that corner. He just went off and took me with him. He had lost it anyway and all he could do was do something to me. Sooner or later I would have passed him anyway."
