Rubens: My season is just beginning

Ferrari number two Rubens Barrichello says that despite this year's Formula 1 World Championship race being over, his season is just beginning as he attempts to take second place in the standings from McLaren rival David Coulthard

The Brazilian saw team mate Michael Schumacher wrap up his fourth world title in Hungary two weeks ago and the pair scored a one-two to retain the constructors' championship for Ferrari.

But Barrichello is still vying for second place in the drivers' championship with Coulthard and heads into this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix knowing he has the full support of team leader Schumacher.

"For me, this season has just started," said Barrichello, who currently sits third in the drivers' table just five points behind Coulthard. "There is still a great fight we can have here and I am going to do my best to finish second.

Barrichello has been forced to play second fiddle to Schumacher throughout his two-year career at the Italian team and is not used to starting races knowing he has a chance of winning.

"I now have four races I have got to try and win," he said. "And for me it is not very common to have four races where I know the whole team will try and help me win, especially with Michael trying to help me.

"Usually he is doing his job and most of the time you are there to help him. I have to take the best out of this opportunity and try and win. I will certainly be happier finishing second [in the championship] than third."

But, Barrichello has a tough task on his hands with both Coulthard and Ralf Schumacher capable of clinching the runners-up spot. Schuey Jr is hot on Barrichello's tail with the Williams ace just two points behind.
