Round-up: Sato learns Interlagos...
Jordan-bound Takuma Sato will make one last appearance behind the wheel of a Formula 3 car this week as he learns the Interlagos circuit in Brazil
The Japanese driver - who dominated this year's British F3 Championship, the Marlboro Masters and Macau Grand Prix - will drive a Cesario Formula Dallara F3 car today (Tuesday) and tomorrow. He will be looked after by his regular engineer from Carlin Motorsport, Anthony Hieatt.
Sato's experience of the Sao Paulo venue should stand him in good stead for his first Brazilian Grand Prix on March 31 next year.
Shanghai's vice-Mayor Jiang Yiren has revealed plans to build a Grand Prix circuit as part of an automotive-based 'city', based on the concept of Volkswagen's Wolfsberg in Germany.
The circuit should be ready in time for 2004, and the venue would be attractive to Formula 1's manufacturers as it would potentially open new markets for them in China. Work on the 68 square kilometre 'autocity' has already begun.
