Red Bull set for infrastructure revamp

Red Bull Racing are set for an off-track image revamp next season in a bid to complement the progress the team hope to make with their new RB3

The Milton Keynes-based outfit are confident that their Adrian Newey-designed car will be a big step forward over last year's RB2, and that has led to a rethink of their off-track approach too.

Team manager Jonathan Wheatley has been entrusted with making those improvements and he is bullish that a new look pit garage, new trucks and better organisation will lift Red Bull Racing to a new level next season.

"For 2007, when the pit garage doors open for the first time, we want to make an impact, not just with the race car but with everything else about the team," he told the team's official website.

"So we are working on producing a new concept for the look of the pit garage, and another important task is that of updating the way we run our air and sea freighting operations, as they were a bit out of date.

"We are also working on revamping our pit equipment. And for 2007, we will also have new trucks, which is a project in itself for this winter, as is the garage layout, pit equipment and transportation.

"It's all a major undertaking, almost like creating a brand new team, but the great thing is that Red Bull want us to be the best in every aspect of our performance, and so these are exciting projects to work on."

Wheatley claims that the efforts of the team management to create a winning team, having lured Newey and captured Renault engines, has fired up all the staff to do their part.

"The management have given us the gun," he said. " Now, it's our job to take it out of the trench and go out and use it."
