Raikkonen left with mixed feelings
Kimi Raikkonen was left with mixed feelings despite setting the quickest time of the day in practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix
The Finn, last year's runaway winner at the Hungaroring and third in Germany last weekend, set a time of 1:21.624 in damp and grey conditions in the morning.
His time could not be bettered in the afternoon.
Raikkonen, however, was only 25th quickest of the 27 drivers in the second session after struggling with used tyres.
"When the Michelin tyres were new the car felt really good and was quick, but we struggled a little this afternoon on old tyres, and I think we need to try a different tyre tomorrow to see if that is better," Raikkonen said.
Teammate Pedro de la Rosa enjoyed a better afternoon, finishing in 11th place, but the Spaniard also admitted there was still work to do.
"We were running early in the morning in the first session to work out a base line for our set-up as there was rain threatening during the afternoon session," he said.
"We only ran used tyres in the afternoon and have been working on the balance, but we are not satisfied yet and have to improve in tomorrow's free practice."
