Montoya to Focus on Winning Race

Juan Pablo Montoya has said his current focus is on winning tomorrow's Italian Grand Prix for himself - despite Kimi Raikkonen's position in the Championship

The Colombian inherited pole position thanks to Raikkonen's engine change penalty and believes there is little point in considering helping his teammate at the moment.

"I think Kimi should be quite good and should be able to get on the podium," said Montoya. "We will see what happens, but from where we stand even if I wanted to help there is not much we can do - he is too far back.

"The main goal at the moment is to try and win the Constructors' Championship."

Speaking about his qualifying lap, Montoya said: "Yeah, that was good. I struggled all weekend with understeer and we've still got a bit. I had a good lap though and I am pretty happy.

"We are clearly quicker than anybody else and if we can get a good run to the first corner then we can try and win the race."
