Montezemolo sure Ferrari will win again

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo is convinced the Italian squad will fight for this year's titles following their first win of the season in Imola

Michael Schumacher scored his and Ferrari's first victory since last year's six-car United States Grand Prix, bouncing back from two disappointing races in Malaysia and Australia.

Although some of Ferrari's rivals have played down the San Marino Grand Prix win as a one-off for Ferrari, di Montezemolo is sure his team will continue to fight at the top this year.

"There will be more victories this year, but maybe I won't be moved to tears again," di Montezemolo, who admitted he cried following Schumacher's win, told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"The competition is extremely tough, that's true, but Ferrari are back.

"We got two poles in four races, won in Imola and lost by a metre in Bahrain. We paid the reliability price in Malaysia and chose the wrong tyres in Australia, but we're up there and we'll be there until the end."

When asked if the championship was still within Ferrari's reach, the Italian said: "I have no doubts. At Imola we were fastest since Friday and in the race we swapped places in a repeat of last year's situation. It won't remain just a flash in the pan.

"I see, I want and I believe in Ferrari being at the top, even though victories also depend on many small details.

"I'm optimistic, because we know we can improve everywhere: aerodynamics, engine, tyres. We have margins everywhere."
