McNish reports plenty of interest
Allan McNish has admitted to being "pleasantly surprised" by the amount of interest shown by teams wanting to sign him for next year
The Scot has been considering his options since Toyota announced that he would be dropped from its Formula 1 team for 2003.
"As for the future, we are in discussions," McNish wrote in his website diary. "There are some options in F1 and some outside aswell. I have been pleasantly surprised by the amount of teams interested in me for 2003 and so although you will need to wait some weeks before knowing what is happening, I think it will be worth the wait. I am confident!"
Away from F1, McNish is high on Bentley's list of drivers to head its Le Mans 24 Hours attack next year. He could also return to sportscars with Audi, the manufacturer he won the American Le Mans Series with two years ago. That could depend on Audi's plans for next year which are yet to be announced.
