Liuzzi: Seamless shift on target

The team's test driver completed more than 100 laps with the new system on their first day of this week's test, and he was upbeat about the progress - which could bring the team at least two tenths of a second per lap when it is introduced.

"It was a good day of testing with more than 100 laps, so it was quite positive," Liuzzi told autosport.com. "Finally we put on the track the seamless shift and seems like it is working properly.

"For sure, we have to tune it better for the final version in Hungary, but we are happy because it was quite reliable. Hopefully there will be no problems for the rest of the test, and we will be ready to run it in Budapest."

Liuzzi said that it was important the team got their reliability proofing of the gearbox done this week.

"The mileage will help make sure the reliability will be okay. Although sometimes you never know, as mistakes in installation can change everything.

"At the moment what is important is to do the kilometres and see that everything is reacting in the right way. We did a lot of kilometres and a lot of laps, so I am happy."
