Kubica wants more podiums

Kubica, the first Polish Formula One driver, made his Grand Prix debut last year when he replaced Canadian Jacques Villeneuve.

The Pole made an instant impression at the Hungarian Grand Prix, where he finished in the points before he was disqualified when his car was found the be underweight.

In Italy, he scored his maiden podium, finishing third after another impressive race.

Now Kubica wants more.

"I learnt a lot in 2006, and I want to put it into practice in 2007 and learn more," said Kubica at the launch of the new BMW F1.07. "To stand on the podium for the first time after a Formula One race was an incredible experience. I want more of it.

"Last year was really good season for me. I started as a test driver and jumped to race in Hungary. This year is different, I start as race driver straightaway which is a good feeling. We have good atmosphere, good people working for us and I hope a good car.

"A lot of things are very different compared to single-seater category I drove before, everything in F1 is big, big power, big downforce, a lot of people working for team and a lot of media."

Kubica will partner German Nick Heidfeld at the team.
