Formula 1 is currently the hottest ticket in town and, with expectations of another memorable season ahead, the desire from fans to get along to their favourite grand prix will only increase.

Liberty Media reported an attendance increase of 9% across the 2024 season when compared to the previous year, with a total of 6.5million spectators watching the 24 race weekends in person.

With the demand often outweighing the tickets available, Alpine and viagogo spotted a hole in the market and have struck up a partnership that will be based around the team’s allocation of race tickets being made available on the worldwide platform.

Alpine, as an F1 team, has a right-to-buy ticket inventory, which will now be distributed directly through viagogo internationally, and StubHub across North America.

With the tickets usually sold through F1 or the race venues themselves often selling out quickly, the Alpine/viagogo deal means more tickets will enter the market and be available to purchase in different ways and in a wider range of countries.

“The partnership with viagogo is an exciting step to bring BWT Alpine Formula One Team closer to fans worldwide,” said Alpine team principal Oliver Oakes.

“By making tickets more accessible through a safe and trusted platform, we’re ensuring more supporters can experience the thrill of race day firsthand.

“We’re committed to enhancing the fan experience and strengthening global presence - this collaboration is a testament to that.”

The partnership will extend beyond pure ticket sales, with Alpine able to tap into viagogo’s data insights in an attempt to grow its own fanbase, while viagogo branding will also be present across the season.

“We’re excited to partner with BWT Alpine Formula One Team to make attending Formula 1 races easier than ever for fans around the world,” said Matt Drew, international business development lead for viagogo.

“In 2024, fans from 160 countries bought tickets on viagogo to see F1 live and, through this partnership, we will connect even more fans to their favourite races.

“Our goal is to bring supporters closer to world-class events with a seamless experience, while helping our partner expand their global reach and grow revenues.”
