JPM tipped to 'struggle'

Juan Pablo Montoya could be in for a tough time at McLaren in 2005. That's the view of his current bosses at Williams, Patrick Head and Frank Williams.

"Juan is a difficult person. He likes to feel everyone in the team is focused on him," said Williams technical boss Patrick Head.

"I'm not sure he'll get quite what he's wanting when he goes to McLaren."

Williams lost the services of Montoya to McLaren last summer, with rumours circulating that the split was triggered by a row during the French Grand Prix.

Montoya has consistently denied this, saying that although he was angry at the time, he has left in order to take on a new challenge. Frank Williams sees the prospect of the Montoya/Raikkonen pairing at McLaren as an intriguing one.

"I would imagine Montoya and Raikkonen will both have a very similar level of performance," said Williams. "They both have phenomenal car control.

"Human nature is to think Kimi looks brilliant because he's at another team and you always worry about the opposition.

"I don't know what his strengths and weaknesses are, but he obviously looks blindingly quick. But then so does Juan, and Juan has this amazing ability to do the unexpected and find overtaking opportunities that are invisible to others.

"It (the intra-team battle at McLaren) will be interesting. Juan is hard-headed and he fears no-one."
