Jordan's delight over points
Jordan Grand Prix has welcomed the news that it has been given a double points haul following the exclusion of the Williams and Toyota cars from the Canadian Grand Prix
Both grand prix debutant Timo Glock and Nick Heidfeld moved up four places as a result to be classified seventh and eighth respectively.
"It's good news for everybody in the team to have their hard work rewarded with points," said team principal Eddie Jordan. "Timo joins an elite group of people who have scored points in their very first race, and a long line of them have been Jordan drivers at some stage in their careers. It's unbelievable history."
Glock said: "What an unbelievable development. I can't explain how it feels to find out I scored two points in my first ever F1 race. It's perfect. And it's great for the team, too, as they have been doing a really good job."
Heidfeld, who only finished behind Glock due to running over his re-fueller during a pitstop, said: "I am really happy for the team, as we have been making steady progress - it's great to be rewarded with championship points. I'm happy for Timo scoring points in his first race - and just a little frustrated because I think I could have scored even more! Anyway, it's a great result in the end and a good boost for everybody."
