Heidfeld keen on Hungaroring challenge

Sauber driver Nick Heidfeld is hoping to continue his strong record at the Hungaroring and help the Swiss team close in on Renault in the constructors' championship

"I like Hungary and its ambience," said the German, who won the 1998 F3000 round at the track. "The Hungaroring is quite a challenging track because you always have to be on the lookout during the race for the moment any overtaking opportunity presents itself. You don't get many chances there! Last year I was sixth and that was tough but very satisfying point to score. I hope for something similar this year."

The team is expecting the twisty track to test its C20 to the limit, and, as always fuel strategy will be vitally important.

"There are several tough aspects to the track," said technical director Willy Rampf. "It is bumpy in place and the ambient temperature is usually very high, which makes life hard for the drivers. Good refuelling strategy is also a crucial key to your race planning, because more than ever this is one of those circuits where you can win positions in the pits that you cannot win out on the track."
