Heidfeld content with EJ14

Nick Heidfeld has pronounced himself pleased with progress with Jordan's new Formula 1 contender, the EJ14

Despite inclement weather conditions, the German clocked up another 44 laps of the Silverstone International circuit on Wednesday. He tested the car for the first time on Monday.

"It was another really good day because we managed to do quite a lot of laps with the new car without any technical problems," said Heidfeld. "At the beginning of the day it was quite damp so I was quite happy to get some laps in dry conditions at the end of the day and get a better feel for the car. As you would expect with a new car there is work to do but overall I have a good feeling. We've made a good start."

Fellow countryman Timo Glock tested the EJ13 again, working on software and tyre development.

"The test was not bad at all," he said. "In the morning the track was quite wet and I had two small spins, but there were no big problems and afterwards we did some wet conditions set-up work. After lunch it was dry so we did aero tests and some tyre work. The car was really good and I am satisfied with today."
