Grapevine: Ralf dismisses Toyota driver rumours
Ralf Schumacher has dismissed speculation linking older brother Michael and McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen to his Toyota team
"Any manager in Formula One, as soon as their driver is on the market, seems to mention Toyota for whatever reason," he told reporters at a pre-season event in northern France on Saturday.
"But I think none of them has really talked to Toyota," added the German, who has a contract for 2007.
He said he would have no fear even if Raikkonen were in the frame.
"Why should I worry? I'm really too old for that. I've been in this business for more than 10 years now so I know what's important to read and what's not," he added.
Raikkonen, winner of seven races last year, and Ferrari's seven times World Champion Michael Schumacher are out of contract at the end of 2006.
Media reports have suggested that big-budget Toyota are after Raikkonen while Schumacher's manager Willi Weber has hinted a move could be considered.
Michael Schumacher, now 37, has said there is a 99.9 percent chance of him ending his career at Ferrari and he could quit if he can no longer challenge for the championship and win races.
Ralf hoped his brother would stay on but questioned his choice of words.
"If you have won so many titles with one team you should not, already before the season starts, talk about leaving a team if it isn't able to win," he said.
"I've been in this situation for more than 10 years now and I've always wanted to win the championship but I haven't had the chance to do it," he said.
