Grapevine: Hamilton to star in motoring festival
Lewis Hamilton and Stirling Moss are to make star appearances at the inaugural 'Double Twelve' motoring festival that is taking place at Brooklands later this year
The festival, named in honour of the Double Twelve meetings that took place at the Surrey track in the 1930s because 24-hour racing was not allowed, will showcase veteran, vintage and classic cars.
As well as auto-test type competitions, there will be parade laps taking place on the nearby Mercedes-Benz World track - which will include an F1 demonstration by Hamilton.
Peter O'Halloran, managing director of Mercedes-Benz World, said: "Brooklands was the birthplace of circuit motor-racing as we know it today and witnessed countless world records being made after its opening in 1907.
"It was therefore extremely fitting for us to welcome key figures on the current circuit such as Lewis Hamilton and racing legend Sir Stirling Moss."
Hamilton will make the appearance just one week before he bids for victory in his home British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
The Double Twelve festival takes place at Brooklands on June 28/29.
