Grapevine: Aleshin to get Renault F1 run in France

Russian Mikhail Aleshin will get another taste of Formula 1 machinery later this month when he demonstrates a Renault at Magny-Cours in France

The Formula Renault 3.5 championship leader has earned the run because he is heading the title standings at the moment, despite a tough time in Brno last weekend.

Speaking about his run, which will take place at the World Series event on June 19, the Carlin Motorsport driver said: "For me it is a big privilege to be given the chance to do this run in the Renault F1 car in Magny Cours and it is great that the World Series organisers give drivers opportunities like this. I am really looking forward to getting back into an F1 car again.

"Having said that, my main aim is to win the championship; that is my focus. This demo run is a great bonus, but I won't be happy unless I am still leading the championship at the end of the season."

Aleshin's first taste of F1 machinery came during a Red Bull Racing roadshow event in Moscow in 2008.
