FIA Publish Provisional 2001 Line-Up

The provisional Formula One entry list was published on Friday with no drivers listed for Minardi, who have yet to confirm an engine provider or major sponsor with little more than three months before the start of the season.

Arrows listed their 2000 line-up of Dutchman Jos Verstappen and Spaniard Pedro de la Rosa but an Arrows spokeswoman said neither had yet been confirmed by the team.

The team hoped to name their drivers by Christmas.

In the mean time, the team tested today with Minardi's Gastone Mazzacane, acting as a temporary test driver. The Argentinean has also been linked with the Prost team as a possible starter next season.

Prost left one vacancy open in the line-up list, while Sauber listed Finland's Kimi Raikkonen, who has had just 23 car races in his career and has yet to gain a superlicence.

The ruling International Automobile Federation (FIA) will meet next week in Monaco to decide on his case, with speculation that they may turn the application down.
