Drivers get up to antics in Oz
The traditional build-up to the Australian Grand Prix is well underway in Melbourne, with the Formula 1 drivers getting up to a variety of stunts and antics before the serious business of the weekend begins
The prize for a driver doing his best to sustain a broken limb before the first race of the season has to go to Felipe Massa. The Sauber rookie has been let loose to go water-skiing just days before he is due to make his F1 debut. Maybe that's why the team gave Jos Verstappen a seat fitting - he might be needed to drive before the week is out...
Minardi have got into the full swing of things. Mark Webber was given a ride in a fighter jet over the Albert Park circuit, but team boss Paul Stoddart was trying out something rather more sedate - a Melbourne city tram!
Eddie Irvine has been playing beach volley ball (predictable that he should be him, don't you think?), while Ralf Schumacher has been driving a BMW road car around Sandown Park race circuit. The most significant thing about this was that the German was wearing a trendy pair of rimless spectacles. He has been thinking about wearing glasses behind the wheel of his Williams too.
